Golden Boy
A short film by Dustin BrozeneA man who's spent most of his life trying to become the person he thought he was supposed to be, enters a relationship that forces him to confront whether any of those expectations were actually his in the first place.
THE FILM
Thomas works in sales and downplays the acting he once hoped would define his life. When a chance encounter with Lauren becomes a relationship, their shared humor and playful connection bring a part of him back to life. But as their intimacy deepens, so does the distance between the man he imagines becoming and the choices he makes. Thomas begins to anchor his sense of worth in Lauren, while she grows weary of believing in a future he won’t pursue. Haunted by his father’s expectations and the feeling that he is already too late, Thomas must confront the grief, resentment, and fear beneath the roles he plays—and consider what a life of his own might look like.Runtime: 18:49
